Founded in 2025 by African immigrant leaders, CAPE-NY was born out of a shared concern: African communities in New York remain underrepresented in political engagement, voter participation, elected office, appointed positions, and policy processes. We believe that true democracy must include every voice. Guided by the values of equity, dignity, inclusion, and accountable leadership, CAPE-NY works to ensure our communities are not only present, but powerful at the decision-making table.
